The Kiln Rooms Christmas Sale

This year, members of The Kiln Rooms decided to support FiredUp4 clay, donating a percentage of funds made at their Christmas sales. The Kiln Room raised over £1,600 to FiredUp4 at their Christmas sale this year and we couldn’t be more grateful for the donation. Proceeds from the sale will go directly to helping FiredUp4 to install pottery studios into three new youth zones and introduce young people to clay.

The Kiln Rooms offer three spacious studios in Peckham providing professional development for members and range of classes for all. The Kiln Rooms have a strong sense of community of makers and students.

The Kiln Rooms Christmas Sale marks the start of FiredUp4 collaborating with the ceramics community! Hooray for Clay!

FiredUp4 Launch | In Dialogue: Kit Kemp, Kate Malone, Nina Campbell & Grant Gibson

To celebrate the launch of FiredUp4, Kate Malone was in conversation with Kit Kemp, interior designer and Founder and Creative Director of Firmdale Hotels, at Ham Yard Hotel, alongside interior designer Nina Campbell and chaired by Design Writer, Editor and Podcast Host of Material Matters, Grant Gibson.

The panel discussed the benefits of ceramics and creativity, the importance of craft and championing craftspeople, as well as exploring how to live with and collect ceramics. The event marked the launch of the campaign and the start of an online auction hosted by Maak, the leading auction house dedicated to ceramics, which concludes on 19 November.

All ticket proceeds will go towards equipping two pottery studios and training and supplying staff for one year, in two Youth Zones in the North West. Eventually, the hope is to raise enough funds to reach as many young people as possible.
